I recently saw the trailer of Surrogates at the cinema and I thought, okay, this is one movie that could be really good, or really bad. I like Bruce Willis, but I don’t know about this movie.
Surrogates (2009) is set in the year 2017, where humans don’t go out of their home. They go out in the real world and interact with other humans using robotic bodies that serve as their surrogates. The story begins when several humans are murdered when their surrogates are destroyed, and a cop (Bruce Willis) investigates the crimes using his own surrogate.
The movie is scheduled to open on 25 September 2009. Surrogates also stars Radha Mitchell (Man On Fire, Rogue, Thick as Thieves), Rosamund Pike (Die Another Day, Pride & Prejudice, Fracture) and Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead, Kojak, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry). The movie is directed by Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines).
Making movies based on best-selling novels is the current trend and I must confess that I’m one of those who’s not bothered if the movie is different from the novel. Perhaps that’s because I don’t have the time to read much nowadays, but let’s not talk about me, shall we?
The Time Traveler’s Wife is based on the 2003 novel of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger. Co-produced by Brad Pitt and directed by Robert Schwentke (Tattoo, Flightplan), the movie stars Rachel McAdams (Mean Girls, The Notebook, Wedding Crashers) and Eric Bana (Munich, The Other Boleyn Girl, Star Trek, Funny People).
The movie is about a Chicago librarian (Eric Bana) who has a genetic disorder, causing him to travel through time when he is stressed. Although he disappears and reappears through time, he built a romantic relationship with an artist, played by Rachel McAdams.
I loved Rachel McAdams in The Notebook and I’m sure she’ll be great in this movie, but I’m not so sure about Eric Bana. I love the trailer, though. I can’t wait to watch the movie. The trailer features the song by Lifehouse called “Broken”.
The Time Traveler’s Wife will be out on 14 August 2009. Enjoy the trailer!
I just watched the trailer of The Ugly Truth this morning and I loved it! I can’t wait to watch the movie and knowing that Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl are in it, I do expect a lot from them. I loved Gerard Butler in P.S. I Love You and Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up. I think they’re both excellent actors.
A romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result. [Source]
