Celeb Style - How To Wear Yellow
Yellow is probably one of the trickiest colours to wear. I’m no expert, but I’ve done some research on how to wear yellow without looking like a mustard jar. Lol! If you don’t want to wear too much yellow, you can start with accessories. Choose to wear either earrings, necklaces, bangles, bracelets, handbags, scarves, belts or shoes in yellow. If you’re brave, go for brighter or darker yellows like mustard, lemon or golden yellow. Otherwise, stick to softer shades of yellow. However, this depends on your skin tone. Those with yellow undertones must be careful when choosing the right shades of yellow.

Nicole Richie’s bright yellow handbag is a perfect way to incorporate yellow into your style. You can also copy Rachel Bilson’s look. She loves her pale yellow scarf, and teamed with black and white, her look is complete. If you love shoes, Diane Kruger wore her black halter cocktail dress with a pair of mustard yellow shoes. Her shoes made her stood out from the crowd, for sure.

For tops and dresses, you can choose ones with minimal yellow on them, just like Miley Cyrus’s patterned top or Leighton Meester’s floral halter dress. Note that Leighton is also wearing a wide yellow belt to complement her dress.

When you’re comfortable wearing yellow, you can try wearing yellow dresses. Mini dresses look great, as seen on Reese Witherspoon and Mischa Barton.

Meanwhile, Drew Barrymore rocks the canary yellow dress like it’s her second skin! Even Kim Kardashian looks stunning in that yellow tube dress. Note that Reese, Mischa, Drew and Kim do not wear much accessories, except for some bangles or rings/earrings.

As for men, take some clues from Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick aka Chuck Bass. A yellow shirt can be worn under a coat or under a patterned vest. This way, you won’t look overwhelmed by the brightness of your yellow shirt.

I agree, Ane! I love Kim in that dress! :)
