A Nightmare on Elm Street is an upcoming 2010 American horror film written by Eric Heisserer and Wesley Strick, directed by Samuel Bayer, and produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller. It is a remake of Wes Craven’s 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to reboot the franchise. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson, originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. I was so afraid of Freddy Krueger!! I remember a scene from one of the movies where he rips open the bed and gets the girl, that freaked me out so badly, I never slept in the middle of the bed for a loooong time!

What is up with all these remakes? I guess the writers or film producers are having a hard time creating originals now…

Me too, Ane!! C is excited about the remake, though. I think we’ll probably watch it at the cinema.

Sooooo many remakes lately, right? I think people just want to see their classic favourites in newer settings.
